Welcome to the Shasta College Division of Health Sciences. The programs in our Division include Allied Health, Dental Hygiene, Health Information Technology and Management, Nursing, and Physical Therapy Assistant. Our programs enjoy a strong reputation of providing excellent healthcare education and service to our communities in Shasta, Tehama, and Trinity Counties. Our primary goal is to promote the health and well-being of individuals, families, and communities through theoretical education and clinical practical skills attainment. We are fully committed to helping our students succeed academically and creating an environment that values diversity, equity, inclusion, and a sense of belonging.

One of our core missions is to address the social determinants of health and reduce healthcare disparities. By doing so, we aim to make a significant and long-lasting impact on the lives of our students and the communities we serve. We are committed to supporting the most innovative approaches to health education, which include interactive and high-fidelity mannequins, clinical simulation, and offering classes in a mix of in-person, practical, and online modalities for student that have busy lives.

The Health Sciences Campus is in the center of downtown Redding, which is experiencing a revitalization. Students are within walking distance of cafes, top-rated restaurants, public art displays, and an array of entertainment. The lively downtown atmosphere is not only a community hub for students, but also places them in proximity to many of our hospitals and health care facilities for clinical rotations that form the cornerstone of our students’ practical education.

Northern California needs well-trained healthcare professionals at all levels of industry--from the operating room to the front desk, and the ambulances that reach patients in need of care. The current healthcare personnel shortages reinforce the need for skilled and highly trained health care professionals. Our role is to ensure students are educated and prepared to take on the challenges of this unique industry, serving as the next generation of healthcare workers and leaders.

Our experienced and dedicated faculty, staff, and clinical partners are here to assist as you embark on a fulfilling educational journey with Shasta College.
