On Sunday, March 15, 2020, Governor Newsom issued more strict guidance on public activities in the state of California due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In light of this new information, Shasta College has updated its emergency planning and will suspend all instruction, services, and public access at all facilities, earlier than planned. All Shasta College facilities are closed to the public effective immediately.
Shasta College will continue working to move all possible instruction and services to online formats. Online instruction and services are scheduled to resume on Monday, March 30, 2020.
The dorms will remain open to current residents.
Updated Plan Through March 30:
Monday, March 16 through Friday, March 27: All activities at Shasta College facilities are suspended for emergency planning and to provide time for faculty and staff to move as many classes and services to an online format as possible to finish the spring semester.
Wednesday, March 18 through Friday, March 20: online instruction resumes only for existing online classes.
Spring Break will now occur the week of March 23 through March 27 for all courses, face-to-face and online.
Monday, March 30: ALL instruction resumes in new online format (all lectures, some labs). A determination on the continuation of courses and activities (face-to-face labs) which cannot be delivered through online instruction will be made and announced prior to March 30.
Public safety during this pandemic is our highest priority. We understand the disruption this causes for our students, community, faculty, and staff. We will continue working to resume as many classes and services as possible. We appreciate your patience and understanding during this evolving situation.
