Crane Mills is a family-owned company that has been in business since 1931. We own and manage 91,000 acres of mixed conifer timberland primarily in Tehama, Shasta, and Trinity counties. Our office is in Corning, CA and our shop and log yard are in Paskenta, CA. We operate our own mechanized logging side and trucks and will contract additional logging and log hauling capacity when required.
Forestry Technician
Qualifications:
- Enrolled in a Forestry/Natural Resource Management program at either a community college or university
- Some prior field experience is preferred but not required
- Driver’s license (required)
- Self-motivated, able to work alone or with others in remote settings, willing to learn
Job Duties:
- Timber harvest layout
- Timber marking and cruising
- Assist with contract supervision (logging, roads, reforestation, site preparation)
- Wildlife and botanical surveys
Compensation:
- $22.00 hour
- Housing or a stipend may be available for applicants from out of the area
